A version of an existing card that changes its finish, color, pattern, numbering, or another published attribute while retaining the underlying checklist identity.

How collectors use the term
A parallel is not automatically scarce or valuable. The exact product, season, finish name, serial numbering, checklist eligibility, and collector recognition determine whether the version belongs in a meaningful comp pool.
Why it matters
Pricing a Silver, Gold /10, retail color, and one-of-one as interchangeable versions is one of the fastest ways to misuse a sale.
